>Last Minute Gift Frenzy

>Are you in a frenzy, searching for a wonderful gift for someone you love? Here are some ideas:

  • One thing I’ve done in the past when I haven’t had time to actually finish a knitted item that I wanted to give someone was to wrap up the yarn and pattern in a lovely box and present that to the recepient.
  • Stocking stuffers are always difficult for me. Here are some great ones from 3 Kittens: Gloves in a Bottle (the smaller size is perfect for a stocking), Serendipity Needles, lint shavers (good for non-fiber artists as well – to take pills off sweaters), or little Vusion lights.
  • If you have time this weekend (yeah, right…) how about whipping up a felted animal for a child? The Fiber Trends Koala is actually a fairly quick knit, or how about a felted chicken from the Toving Tema 11 booklet by Sandnesgarn? Here’s a row of them that my sister-in-law, Mimi Rasmussen, made. These are really fast!

We’re open our regular hours over the weekend, but on Monday, Christmas Eve, we’re only open until 3 pm.

If you’re lucky enough not to have to do any more shopping, relax and enjoy the holiday weekend!

>New Books in the Shop!

>

Two new offerings from Martingale & Company. “Stitch Style Mittens” and “Stitch Style Socks”. Both books are jam packed with designs in all levels of technique. Come in and check out the acordian mittens in Stitch Style Mittens and the I Love Socks pattern is just waiting to be knit for Valentines Day!

Yeah! Meg Swanson and Joyce Williams book “Armenian Knitting” has us all itching to make the Knit Purl sweater – great technique reference in this book for steeks for the Cossack vest, trapping your yarns in two color knitting and just good reading!

Then, I am soooooooooooo proud of this next book. Monica Ferris’s “Knitting Bones” has arrived in the shop. Yet another murder mystery with a group effort on the who-done-it. The pattern in the back of the book is by local knitting instructer Rosemary Kosel – who just happens to be my Mom – yeah Mom!

>Technical Difficulties

>If you haven’t noticed yet, our website www.3kittensneedlearts.com is experiencing technical difficulties. Unfortunately, my hard drive crashed last week on my laptop where I kept all of the files for the website. I tried transferring the files from the website to my store computer, but somehow, not only did they not transfer correctly, the website is now not running properly. I hope to have this remedied in the next few days, but in the meantime, please bear with us!

>It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!!!
