>

You asked for it, you got it!

I’ve added a session of Magic Loop Socks!

This will be Thursday nights from 6-8pm, starting on February 21. The class is already filling fast, so call now to get your spot – Magic Loop is great for socks and anything else you can knit in the round.

My goal is for you to have a pair of socks by the end of 4 weeks – and of course, have fun!

>Party Time at 3 K!

>

Last week the 3 K staff got together for homemade cookies and to say good -bye, for awhile, to one of our staff members ~ Ana. Ana was the 1st part timer I hired in October of 2006! She was barely 15 years old and it was her first job! Ana was here to do all of those inventory jobs no one really wants to do. And she did them all and & always with a great sense of humor and a smile!
She will be spending this next school semester on a farm in Maine, learning alot about animals and life with a small group of her peers. We look forward to her return in the Spring!

We miss you already, Ana!!

>could it be Sock-Mania?

>I’m thrilled to report that my Magic Loop Socks class is full! Thanks, everyone, for signing up, we should have a lot of fun. If you didn’t make it into this great group, please call us anyway – if we get a few more people, I will happily set up another session. Just call and get on the list and we’ll make it happen! Magic Loop is great for socks and every other thing you could possibly knit in the round. I really like it as just one more way to reach my knitting goals!

Also, Cis has just added a session of Socks on DPNs (double-points), which will be on Saturday mornings starting February 9th. This class is already filling, so if you want to get in on the Sock Mania, call and get your spot today!

>New Kureyon Sock Yarns

>

Yesterday, we received a shipment of more colors of the fabulous Kureyon Sock Yarn.

I personally love the one in the front of the photo – purple, black, a touch of green, acid yellow and pink. Retail price is $19.50 per skein.

Cis mentioned the fun Flat Feet socks that she ordered at market last week. Here’s a photo of a pair of socks being worked up.

You unravel the dyed fabric and knit with it as it unravels. It’s way cool! We have it sitting on our front table, so come in and give it a try. We’re taking pre-orders for this product.

Let’s keep those tootsies warm during this cold weather!

>TNNA News

>

I had the pleasure of vacationing with my family for 4 days in Long Beach, CA, last week, & then spent the next 4 days with Julie at The National NeedleArts Association (TNNA) trade show at the Long Beach Convention Center. The weather was typical So Cal winter weather~ a mix of sun & clouds, some evening rain showers and temps in the mid-sixties ~ perfect weather to show off hand-knits! And the trade show was fabulous!!

So you might ask what the trade show is all about. Here’s the scoop ~ Serious needleart buyers and sellers know this show sets the needlework industry’s trends for fashion, color and design. TNNA is known by industry experts as the show that shouldn’t be missed. TNNA trade shows attract needleart buyers from all over the United States and abroad. In over 830 booths, hundreds of needlearts suppliers display their newest products.
Highlights include:
More than 100 hours of practical and inspirational classes in business and needlearts techniques Retailers’ Luncheon focusing on issues facing retailers from all needlearts disciplines
The New Product Display and Great Wall of Yarn offer glimpses of the excitement to come
Galleria Reception gives us the perfect time to network
Fashion Show highlights the best and the brightest new fashions, colors and trends.
Sample-It enables us to “test-drive” some of the latest products on the market
. . . and more!

One of the products that I got very excited about is the Conjoined Creations Flat Feet Socks ~ stop by the shop & see this inventive way to knit socks in very fun colorwways. The new 9″ circular needles by HiyaHiya are outstanding and allow you to knit a sock in the round on circulars rather than double points – I tried them, I love them – & can’t wait until they arrive in the store! Iris Shreier also sold me all of her new fabulous Artyarns – more cashmere, silk & silk mohair in fabulous colorways and new yarns too!! It was fun to see Chris Bylsma and she asked how everyone’s Crayon Box Jackets are coming along. Don’t forget to check the schedule for Designer Knit Nites – let’s keep working on all of those special projects and have a fashion show before the end of this year! Maggie Jackson was there and is making exciting changes to her business – more news to come about Maggi Knits! Malabrigo has a book coming out with all designs by Jane Ellison – it’s a definite add to your library! Watch our website for a link to the TNNA Fashion Show in the next week or so and stop by the shop often over the next several weeks to see the new products as they arrive!

Save the date for Stitch n Pitch ~ July 20th!.We will be promoting this event at the Knit Out at Mall of America next month!
