We get excited about new yarns. It’s a fact! We just can’t help it. And the newest addition to the store is Happy Fuzzy Yarn’s Corrie Sock. We’re drooling…
Corrie Sock is a fingering weight yarn made from a superwash Corriedale wool/nylon blend that’s ideal for socks. The wool and nylon both take the dye beautifully, and the nylon helps socks last a long time… But, of course, you can use it for other things as well – shawls, hats, mittens, etc.
We love finding breed-specific yarns for 3 Kittens! Corriedale sheep were developed by crossing Merino and Lincoln sheep, creating a sheep that not only provides beautiful wool but that is used for meat production. The wool fiber produced by Corriedales is 31.5 to 24.5 microns (the lower the micron count, the finer a wool is; Merino is the finest wool at between 11.5 and 24.5 mircons). Corriedale wool is sturdy and soft – a wonderful combination, don’t you think?
Happy Fuzzy Yarn is “an artisan yarn and fiber company based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Riin Gill started Happy Fuzzy Yarn in 2006 after many years of dyeing, knitting, spinning, and designing as a hobby, and people stopping her on the street to ask if they could buy the sweater she was wearing. Her goal is to have knitters, crocheters, weavers, spinners, and felters around the world fall in love with Happy Fuzzy Yarn!”
3 Kittens is the only store in Minnesota carrying this beautiful yarn!
Plus, we will be having a trunk show with all of the yarns from Happy Fuzzy Yarns in August!
